Summary
All personality tests on PersonalityScanner run in your browser. Your answers to quiz questions are never sent to our servers. We collect anonymized usage analytics and serve contextual ads — details below.
What we collect
- Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics): page visits, device type, country, referrer. Never tied to your identity.
- Aggregated tool usage: which test was opened and whether a test was completed, along with country, referrer domain, device type, and a rolling anonymous session ID that rotates daily. We use this to understand which tests are helpful. We do not store the answers you submitted or the result you received.
- Server logs: Standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days for security.
What we do NOT collect
- Test answers. The choices you select stay in your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers.
- Test results. Your personality type, score, or result category is not stored on our side.
- Email addresses. We do not operate a newsletter and do not require an email to use any test.
- Account information. PersonalityScanner has no user accounts.
- Personal identifiers. We do not fingerprint browsers, track across sites, or build user profiles.
Cookies
PersonalityScanner uses minimal cookies:
- Essential: none required; our tests are stateless.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid) to measure aggregate traffic.
- Advertising: Once enabled, Google AdSense may set cookies to personalize ads. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings.
Third-party services
We use the following services that have their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics — traffic analytics (privacy policy)
- Google AdSense — ad display, when enabled (privacy policy)
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymous session heatmaps (privacy policy)
- Cloudflare — DDoS protection + performance (privacy policy)
- Our web host — DigitalOcean (privacy policy)
Your choices
- Block cookies: Your browser settings control cookie acceptance.
- Opt out of personalized ads: Visit Google Ad Settings.
- Opt out of analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Request data deletion: Since we don’t tie analytics to your identity, there’s no personal record to delete. If you believe we hold any data about you, email us (see Contact page) and we will investigate.
GDPR & CCPA
If you’re in the EU/UK or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Because our analytics are anonymized by design, we typically do not hold any personal data tied to individual users. For specific requests, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children’s privacy
PersonalityScanner is not directed at children under 13 in the United States (COPPA) or under 16 in the European Union (GDPR). The Color Blind Test for Kids is intended to be used by a parent or guardian with their child; no data is collected. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
